INTERIOR ARCHITECTURE

Asking the right questions of a client is key to developing a design plan that works seamlessly for your home or your business. Our first meeting may feel more like an intimate conversation as I try to learn all about you, the way you live, the way you work, and your vision of your space. The more I understand you, the better I can service your needs and aesthetic. I view my business as a service business as much as a design business. You can’t necessarily identify me by my work—my work identifies you, your brand, and your way of life.

When it comes to interior architecture, we must envision how to build and structurally organize, (not just decorate) an environment that embraces your aesthetic and functional needs, as well as creatively solving many problems that you might not realize are a result of your current environment. With our architectural abilities, we are able to provide full-service design services. With our creative talents we make your space beautiful.

OWNER’S REPRESENTATION / PROJECT MANAGEMENT

Your plans are complete and ready for bid (whether Urban Red Design was your designer or not) –– now what happens? Contractors and vendors must be vetted before sending your plans out for bid. Bid documents should include a written narrative of what you expect from your contractor, what your schedule is, what your building rules are, etc. Once bids are received they must be leveled to be sure you are comparing apples to apples. Urban Red can handle this entire process for you and help you choose qualified contractors who can effectively complete your work.

Now you are ready to start construction, but you have your life to lead, whether you run your own business, are in court all day, are seeing patients all day, or raising two kids. Whatever it is that you do, you must keep doing it without worrying about your construction project. Who is going to oversee the work? Who will be around to interpret the plans, answer questions, and make sure everything is going as planned? If you have a different architect or interior designer on the project, they likely make a visit to the project site once a week. A great deal of work gets done each week and a once weekly visit means that some work might need to be redone or ripped out (which is costly) by the time a mistake is noticed. Let Urban Red Design represent you on-site and keep your project moving, while constantly monitoring budget, schedule, and quality.

INTERIOR DESIGN

You have a plan that works for you, but what image do you want your space to portray? Your company has a brand; your space should reflect and enhance that brand. If we are designing a space for you, the furnishings we choose will ideally correspond with your established look and taste. For example, Urban Red has a client who is always donned in oodles of silver jewelry; her new furnishings and finishes reflect that style with chrome, stainless steel, and nickel detailing. Your interiors should reflect who you are, your interests, your travel experiences, your future—not just what your designer likes.
